Birthday of the International Space Station
Well, the space station is almost 10 years in the making, but 1998 was the year when the foundation was laid and in November 1998, Russia sent its Zarya module into Earth orbit. On December 6, 1998, Space Shuttle Endeavor STS-88 carried the Unity Module by NASA and successfully docked with Russia's Zarya Module. And so began an era of international relations and cooperation beyond Earth that lasted 25 years. These 25 years were a period of innumerable scientific achievements, experiments and inventions in which numerous successful experiments were carried out to improve human life on earth. So far 273 astronauts have spent their time in this space house and played their part in this mission. This is the last decade of the International Space Station and perhaps sometime in the 2030s, its time will come to an end and this human masterpiece will be handed over to the ocean.
